ABOUT

As an emerging artist and soon-to-be graduate specializing in acrylic painting, my work revolves around the human figure as a means of confronting reality and expressing personal truths. Growing up in Medicine Hat, Alberta, my artistic journey has been deeply shaped by my own experiences, struggles, and challenges. Painting offers me a way to process and communicate these moments, transforming them into visual narratives that invite introspection and connection.

My work often sheds light on the overlooked or uncelebrated aspects of everyday life. I find beauty in the "less pretty" details—the cracks, imperfections, and rawness that make up the human experience. These elements become the foundation of my creative exploration, as I strive to highlight the vulnerability and resilience inherent in us all.

In addition to drawing from my personal reality, my practice is also influenced by horror pop culture. I am fascinated by the genre’s ability to confront fears, challenge conventions, and reveal hidden truths. This inspiration seeps into my paintings, adding layers of tension, curiosity, and unease that compel viewers to look closer.
Through my work, I aim to spark conversations about the complexities of human existence and encourage viewers to see the beauty in both the ordinary and the unsettling. Painting is not just a medium for me; it is a mirror, reflecting the intricate and sometimes shadowed facets of life.

I encourage viewers to consider how my work resonates with their own experiences. My pieces often aim to spark meaningful conversations or commentary about vulnerability and resilience.

For those of you who resonate with my work, even indirectly, I offer you a gesture of my admiration. There is beauty in strength, and a sliver of light in the dark.
